I love this theme! There are so many amazing leading men in the literary world, but some piece of heart is always given to the third side of the love love triangle, the one that doesn’t get chosen.

The Good: Loved Brock and Jenna with passion. Great characters and the plot was very well constructed. Loved how the Breed Mates are so involved and active! Kick-Ass! =D

The Bad: Brock was pretty much a background character for a while, so it took me a while to care for him. 

The Romance: Quite the steamy affair Jenna and Brock have, very enjoyable!

Dead Reckoning (Sookie Stackhouse, Book 11)

The Good: Fun and it fits like your favorite shirt would. =)

The Bad: While I was reading it, someone asked me what I was thinking of it, I said: “not sure... it feels like an old shirt you have always loved. It is comfortable and you can't help but wear it, but it's far from effective =/”

That’s exactly how it felt for me. I think it’s time to wrap this series up, though I have to say that I will miss this world and characters dearly!

The Romance: Knowing Eric is not Sookie’s HEA, takes some of the fun out, but he is still awesome!

BE {#8}: Sookie Stackhouse vs. True Blood TONIGHT

I love the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris; so I was equally happy to hear it was being made into a television show. Well, I was happy until I heard it was going to be on HBO (which I don’t have), but honestly that is the best place for it to be. True Blood is definitely a hit, and while it is based on the books, the show isn’t the same. Yes there are similarities, but when it comes to television, things that take pages to say in a book, can be done in seconds on screen. So there are going to be differences. But what do you think – are you happy with the changes? Did they totally screw something up? Is Ryan Kwantenwho you pictured as Jason? This week’s theme is Books for an Urban Fantasy 1st Timer!

Hmmm this was a fun one to think about =)

I went with books that the heroines are totally relatable, but kick-ass and awesome at the same time. Books that I believe would be a good first foray into the Urban Fantasy genre:

Halfway to The Grave by Jeaniene Frost

Great Heroine, awesome Hero, a lot of action and kick-ass romance!

 

Kitty and The Midnight Hour by Carrie Vaughn

One of my fave heroines. This is a great werewolf story and not too intricate for a first timer =)

 

The Scent of Shadows by Vicki Pettersson

Different kind of UF. No Vamps or Weres, but it had a Comic Book element that will definitely be appealing!

 

The Becoming by Jeanne C. Stein

Great straight on Vampire tale. Very likable and relatable heroine and awesome world building!

 

Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris

With True Blood’s popularity, this is a great choice for an UF Newbie! =)

Covering It Up #3 – The Good, The Bad & The Brazilian! {Part III}

 

Hey Everyone! I hope you all have an awesome Friday! This week I did some online research and found out that there are some great Paranormal releases coming to Brazil and I wanted to share more Brazilian covers of books that are coming soon to my homeland!

Hope you guys enjoy them!

 

“Pretties” and “Specials” by Scott Westerfeld

Uglies was released last year and books 2 and 3 in this series will be releases later on this year:

*”Pretties” is titled what would be “Perfects” in English instead.

hmmm I liked the Brazilian cover for Pretties better, but the original cover for Special looks better made for me.

Same girl, different graphs, not really grabbing me here =/

 

 

“Beautiful Creatures” by Margareth Stohl and Kami Garcia:

I kind of like the Brazilian one better for this one, because the tone of purple is gorgeous, but the original font is much better.

 

 

 “13 to Life” by Shannon Delany:

Gotta say that I much prefer the Brazilian cover for this one, I’m not a fan of the original =/

 

 

“Lover Revealed” by J.R. Ward:

hmmm this is a though one. I love the original orange tone, and the couple does have a sexy pose. But I do love woman taking control in the Brazilian cover and her eyes are gorgeous.

 

“Dead to The World” by Charlaine Harris:

I’ve never been a fan of these cartoonish cover for this series, so this is an easy one for me, hands down I prefer the Brazilian one!

 

 

“Blue Bloods” by Melissa De La Cruz:

I really like the bite marks on the original one and I dont like the doll like thing of the Brazilian one.

 

 

“Vampire Kisses” by Ellen Schreiber:

My Thoughts:

The Brazilian cover is definitely cute, but other than the color red, it doesn’t really scream Vampire, does it. I'm going with the original for this one.
