Hello my dear readers!
Help me welcome here today an author that I love! L.A. Banks has been super awesome in answering my questions and offering a signed book for a giveaway!
Check it out…

When did you first start writing?
A: 1993 - pubbed in 1996
Have you always enjoyed Fantasy?
A: Yes
Why writing Urban Fantasy?
A: It's grittier, more razor's edge.
Were there any Books, Movies or Writers that have inspired you?
A: The entire genre of horror cult classics--love a good "mmove." But I hate slasher flicks, go figure?
What is your favorite subject in the Urban Fantasy Realm?
A: Supernatural beings... vampires.
Favorites:
Favorite Paranormal themed Movie?
A: Oddly, there are two -- Frank Langella's Dracula, and Aliens -- very different movies executed really well script-wise and FX.
Favorite Paranormal themed TV Show?
A: Being Human
Favorite Paranormal themed Book?
A: That's a hard one, I like too many series :)
Favorite Author?
A: For the same reason, I cannot narrow that choice--I read everything from Toni Morrison, to biographies, to self help, to fantasy... my reading and music tastes are VERY broad.
Favorite Urban Fantasy Author?
A: Sherrilyn Kenyon
Favorite Genre that is NOT your own?
A: Metaphysics
Favorite one of your Books?
A: The Bitten
Who is your favorite of your own characters?
A: Carlos Rivera, because he's the most unpredictable, was hardest to write and reign in, and grew the most of all my characters I've ever written.
Which was the hardest to write?
A: Carlos Rivera, that's why he was my fav--see above. He never followed my outlines as a writer and always took the story to a different place than I;d intended :)
What would you be if not a writer?
A: An economic development consultant... I've worked a lot of years helping women and monitority business get started. It is VERY rewarding work.
If you Could be a Paranormal Being, Who would you be?
A: Probably a Fae... that way I'd be beautiful, have special powers and longevity, and wouldn't be dead or have to hurt people to survive.
If you could meet ay Urban Fantasy Character out there, Who would you like to meet?
A: Max Hunter from my Crimson Moon series (the guy is HOT, LOL!)
Quickies:
Werewolves or Shadow Wolves? --Shadow Wolves
Reading or Writing? --Writing
Print or eBook? --Print
Hardback or Paperback? –Paperback
Pepsi or Coke --Coke
Mc D's or Burger King? --Neither, I don't do fast food on health & principle
YA novels or Adult novels? –Adult
Library or Bookstore? --Bookstore, love libraries but prefer the book stores.
Summer or Winter? –Summer
The Movie or The Book? --(ooooh... this is bad) --The movie, if the FX are slammin', but will def read the book
PNR or UF? --UF
What is your favorite part of the writing process?
A: Figuring out the character's voice and then letting their dialogue carry me.
What is your least favorite part?
A: Page 1 chapter 1--starting.
The Crimson Moon Series in your own words?
A: A fun wolf tale that puts a whole different spin on the werewolf mythos by adding a new breed to the species called, Shadow Wolves.
Any plans for more Books in the series {Say "yes" pretty please LOL}?
A: BIG SMILE... sadly no... because of the publisher's decision.
Can you talk a bit about your next projects? The new UF series and the YA book?
A: The next UF will be Surrender the Dark, coming out April 2011, by Pocket Books. This is about angels that were trapped here on earth after the first big battle between the fallen and the Light, and now that 2012 is upon us, the battle will rage again with one woman standing in the balance. The YA book, Shadow Walker, is a continuation of the Vampire Huntress Legends series... it deals with the next generation of Guardians--the teen children of all the older warriors who must now take up their parents mantle before all of their special powers have come in. That will be a trilogy.
What are you working on right now?
A: Right now I'm working on the second book on the angels UF.
Do you have any advice or tip to those like me that want to become a published Author someday?
A: Not to give up and to sit down and get your thoughts on paper. A lot of times we fret so much in our heads as writers and really develop lovely stories, but until we translate what's in our brains onto the page we can't show the work to an editor with the hopes of breaking through. So I tell all writers, yes, think about your story for a while, but ultimately commit to "the chair" and sitting down to actually WRITE it, Big Smile!
Anything you would like to say to your fans out there?
A: I'd like to thank people for all their wonderful support over the years as I've continued to dabble in different genres. You all are truly appreciated--BIG HUG!
Thank you so much for being here!
You are more than welcomed XXXOOO!
