Head Rush: The Disillusionists Trilogy, Book 3

*NO Spoilers.

After the heart crushing ending of Double Cross and the real life will-they-won’t-they-publish-it drama, me and everyone else who is a fan of this series, have been in a tizzy waiting for the conclusion of this great trilogy.
Carolyn Crane has created such an innovative concept within the disillusionists trilogy, not to mention such unique and fascinating characters that you can't help but being completely drawn in and becoming obsessed with them all.
I really don't wanna spoil anything, but I have a very strong feeling that Head Rush will make all of those, including me, that were screaming in frustration and hatred by the end of Double Cross, sigh in relief, smile and get ready to bow own to Carolyn for being such an awesome author.
After such a wild and unforgettable ride that this series has been, Carolyn is definitely an auto-buy author for me and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next.

ARC Review: The Secret of the Keepers {Kailmeyra #2} by Elizabeth Isaacs

The Secret of the Keepers

Life for Nora couldn't be better; she has married the man of her dreams and loves living in the pristine land of Kailmeyra.
That is, until the darkness threatens her perfect world.
Now war is upon the land. She and Gavin must strengthen their clan and prepare to fight. But the enemy has an ally—one that not only wields power, but holds knowledge of the ancients' secrets. Secrets that could destroy creation itself.
As the darkness grows, doubt seeps in ... protectiveness hinders progress ... and the unthinkable comes to pass.
Bewildered and alone, Nora shoulders the responsibility of leading an entire race to war. As she struggles with decisions that seem impossible to make, she is haunted by one choice.

The Secret of the Keepers

*Minor SPOILER from the previous book

I really enjoyed The Light of Asteria and ever since reading it I have been jonesing for its sequel. When Elizabeth contacted me about reviewing it I could not have been happier.
It took me a little while to get back into the thick of things, because I honestly didn't remember some of the characters names and events of the previous book. However after a while I felt myself drawn once again into the fantastic world Elizabeth Isaacs has created.
I did have a bit of a problem with The Secret of the Keepers when it came to descriptions. It might be my own fault, since English is not my first language, but I got a bit lost whenever the author got into describing powers, energies, environments and so on.
However, when it came to the plot, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Nora and Gavin are still a great couple and it was so awesome to catch up with them and their clan.
I surely hope that there is a third book in the series, since I believe that is much more to be told, specially after the end of The Secret of the Keepers.
If you enjoy magical worlds and characters within a beautiful love story, this is definitely a series for you.

ARC Review: Dreaming of The Wolf {Heart of The Wolf #8} by Terry Spear

Terry Spear's debut Heart of the Wolf was a Publishers Weekly Best Book of the Year. Known for her research into how wolves live in nature, Spear writes her werewolves as they would behave realistically, including pack dynamics, mating behavior, and hierarchies.

Werewolf pack leader Jake Silver is an acclaimed photographer. He sees a beautiful woman at the art gallery where his photos are on display, and his intrigue turns into wolfish protectiveness. Alicia Greiston has never met anyone like Jake-he's sexy, alpha, and totally irresistible, and he calls to something primal in her soul.

Dreaming of the Wolf (Heart of the Wolf)

*NO Spoilers.

So Awesome! This is exactly what i love the most about long term Paranormal Romance series, getting to revisit groups of characters that I love and get to see previously met ones get their Happily Ever After.

I literary could not put Dreaming of the Wolf down for a second and ended up going through it all night long and getting no sleep at all, it was absolutely worth it though. To see Lelandi's family again and witnessing Jake getting to find his dream woman.

Jake is such a great Alpha male and don't get him wrong, he might not be leader of pack, but he is definitely an Alpha male through and through and Alicia is more than enough to drive him crazy with her antics and wild with passion. I loved their interaction and romance. Specially since she starts off as human and you can't help but wonder how the hell are they ever going to be together.

Dreaming of The Wolf is a fantastic installment in Terry's awesome werewolf series and probably the most action-packed pone to date and I LOVED every minute of it.

It had it all, from hot and steamy smex to suspense and tender moments galore. Exactly what a Paranormal Romance lover could have ever hoped for in her wildest dreams.

I recommend the Heart od The Wolf series to all PNR lovers out there, you won't be disappointed, specially if you have a weakness for Alpha males and strong female characters.

Immortal Rider (Lords of Deliverance)

*NO Spoilers.

YES! THIS is how you do high quality Paranormal Romance! I keep thinking that there might be something wrong with me, since I have been somewhat turned off by PNR lately.

However, when you read such an amazing Paranormal Romance like Immortal Rider, where it’s not all about the smexing, which is definitely there and it’s awesome, but about telling incredible love stories with incredible action and superb storytelling.

Immortal Rider follows the awesome tale in Eternal Rider and tells the story of Limos and Erik finding their Happily Ever After in the midst of apocalyptical occurrences and a time when it would be easy to believe there is no point in even trying.

Larissa Ione brings back all of all favorites in this fantastic novel, from almost all protagonists we loved in her Demonica series to the angels and other horseman we are quickly becoming so attached to.

Larissa is one of those authors that is not afraid to do whatever it takes to her characters to get them where she needs them and tell their story. Immortal Rider will put your heart through the ringer and get you wanting your mommy to come over and telling you everything will be ok.

A warning though… Don’t start this book unless you are prepared and have the time to go all the way through it, I doubt you'll be able to stop. I went read in one sitting, through the night and had to go to work with NO sleep whatsoever, thanks a lot Larissa! LOL

If you have yet to read the Lords of Deliverance or the Demonica series, you are NOT a real PNR fan! There I’ve said it! Watcha gonna do about? I’ll tell you what you should do, READ THESE SERIES NOW!

I cannot wait for Lethal Rider! Doesn’t the cover below just make you wanna invent a time machine?

*Contains MINOR SPOILERS for the previous books in the series.

There is doubting it, Gini Koch can write the heck out of a book. Funny one-liners, incredible action and let’s not forget the amazingly compeling and lovable characters. The Katherine “Kitty” Katt series is right up there amongst my favorite series ever, if not at the top and am not surprised at all that Gini has done it again with Alien Proliferation.
Alien Proliferation gives us Kitty and Jeff Martini dealing with Kitty’s pregnancy, the limitations it has given her and more baddies for them to fight.
Kitty is just as awesome as ever as a new wife, prgnant woman and then mother, I think even more awesome, maybe SUPER awesome? You’ll understand it when you read it =)
I love where Gini is taking these characters. I am so happy we got that whole, will-they-wont-they out of the way so soon and that now we can focus on these building a family and having incredible adventures.
I know resolving that so soon might be tricky, but Gini has done is superbly and Alien Proliferation is the proof of that.
Oh and for you Christopher fans out there, our boy finally gets his HEA! YAY! I loved it and can’t wait for some double dates with Kitty and Martini LOL.
Alien Proliferation is another FANTASTIC addition to this universally awesome series that just keeps getting better and a must reader for any member of the Alien collective. If you haven’t read it yet, shame on you! You have NO idea what you’re missing!

Angel Town

She wakes up in her own grave. She doesn't know who put her there, she doesn't know where she is, and she has no friends or family.
She only knows two things: She has a job to do: cleansing the night of evil. And she knows her name.

*NO Spoilers.

It’s so sad to see a series that you have been following for a while come to an end, but seeing it end so well is definitely a plus.

I have loved the Jill Kismet series since 2009 and a fan of Lilith Saintcrow from then on too. Lilith knows how to write the nitty gritty to a point that you will be pulling out your hair and saying “why, G-d, why?”.

Jill has literally been through hell and it was a balm to my heart seeing her get some comeuppance. I have to be honest though and say that Angel Town dragged a bit, but it definitely had by it’s grips enough that I read it in one sitting and was definitely smiling when I was done.

I really don’t want to ruin his final installment to anyone, let me just say that Angel Town is the cherry on the cake that every Jill Kismet fan needed. Go out and get it!

ARC Review: Kiss of Frost {Mythos Academy #2} by Jennifer Estep

Kiss of Frost (Mythos Academy, #2)

Logan Quinn was trying to kill me. My Spartan classmate relentlessly pursued me, swinging his sword at me over and over again, the shining silver blade inching closer to my throat every time. A smile tugged up his lips, and his ice-blue eyes practically glowed with the thrill of battle...

I’m Gwen Frost, a second-year warrior-in-training at Mythos Academy, and I have no idea how I’m going to survive the rest of the semester. One day, I’m getting schooled in swordplay by the guy who broke my heart — the drop-dead gorgeous Logan who slays me every time. Then, an invisible archer in the Library of Antiquities decides to use me for target practice. And now, I find out that someone at the academy is really a Reaper bad guy who wants me dead. I’m afraid if I don’t learn how to live by the sword — with Logan’s help — I just might die by the sword …

*NO SPOILERS

I have recently been on a Paranormal Y.A. binge and after being so turned off by the genre for a while, I am so happy to be back on the horse.

Even though the Paranormal YA genre is still hit and miss for me, there are some incredible series that can’t help but fascinate and enthrall me. Jennifer Estep’s Mythos Academy is definitely one of those, even though it’s one of the newest in my TBR.

I loved Touch of Frost back in July and I could not wait to read more on Gwen and co. After reading Kiss of Frost, I am so NOT disappointed! Jennifer delivered such an amazing adventure and story with Kiss of Frost, that I can positively say that this is fast becoming one my favorite series ever.

Kiss of Frost brings it all back, out dear heroine, Gwen, is far from perfect but has definitely grown a lot and is extremely lovable. We get more action this time around and, great world building, though I could do with a little less repetitiveness when it comes to backstory.  The myths, legends are all there once more in my favorite Para normal Y.A. setting, the private school A.K.A. Hell!

Gwen is finally coming to terms with her place in the Mythos world and Logan has been trying to train her to be more of a warrior. Her day to day has changed a lot, but Gwen still doesn’t understand Logan’s stand-offish attitude and a school ski trip was not in plans, let alone meeting a boy that charms her and makes Logan jealous all at once.

Kiss of Frost is a fabulous sequel to Touch of Frost and right on par with what Jennifer has been doing with the series. I sure hope the Mythos Academy series is here to stay, cause I surely want so much more books out of it!

If you enjoyed Touch of Frost, Kiss of Frost is a MUST READ! If you have yet to check out the series, this is the perfect time to do so!
