What's on my mind...

I have many things I want to talk to you guys about that I cannot divide them in different posts :P

First and foremost, I am so happy for being here in this amazing country these past 2 years. They were a couple of the best years of my life. I met so many great people, I have been through so much here; good time, bad times, incredible times, nightmares and everything in between. I do not regrets and I feel I have learned so much from everything.

Thank you all you people that have been part of my life, people that were just passing through and people that showed up to stay... You have made my life better, you have made me a better person, and for that I will always be grateful :)

Thank you for you that always shows up here and allow yourself a few minutes to read my rants, please know that everything that I put up in this blog means the world to me :)

*Wipes away a couple stray tears...

Now, moving on to some laughter (hopefully)

Thursday night I went out with my girl Melina and a friend of hers from Costa Rica... A few beers and some vodka later we decide we should make a telenovela (soap opera)... well, at least the opening for it anyways... hehe!

So, we get to it and after my master editing and directing (ham ham! :P) this is the result:

Thanks to Melina and Maurice for playing along and for providing so much fun :)

I stole this meme one from a the blog of an author I really enjoy (Carrie Vaughn): Don’t take too long to think about it. Fifteen books you’ve read that will always stick with you. First fifteen you can recall in no more than 15 minutes.

In no specific order:

- He is just not that into you (Greg Behrendt & Liz Tuccillo)
- The Killing Dance (Laurell K. Hamilton)
- Why didn't they ask Evans (Agatha Christie)
- Curtain (Agatha Christie)
- Twilight (Stephanie Meyer)
- Eclipse ((Stephanie Meyer)
- New Moon (Stephanie Meyer)
- Breaking Dawn (Stephanie Meyer)
- Shadow Kissed (Richelle Mead)
- Iron Kissed (Patricia Briggs)
- Lover Avenged (J.R.Ward)
- HP and the Deathly Hallows (J.K.Rowling)
- HP and the Prisioner of Azkaban (J.K.Rowling)
- The Return of the King (Tolkien)
- The DaVinci Code (Dan Brown)

Ok guys, that's it from now... Thanks for stopping by... and stay tuned a lot more to come... soon

and a big release from the blog during this summer... you can't miss it!!!!!

A Quarter of a Century has gone by...

well, that's it...

25 springs, 25 new year's eves, 25 summers, 25 TV fall seasons, 25 winter vacations, 25 valentine's day, 25 Emmy awards cerimonies, 25 finale seasons, 25 years have gone by and here I am... I made it, barely without a scratch on me...

I still don't know the meaning of life
I still haven't seen an alian
I still haven't been in love
I still haven't been in space
I still hate onions
I still don't get a lot of things
I still love sunsets and sunrises
I still love being cuddled up in the winter
I still never kissed in the rain
I still haven't gone skinny dipping
I still haven't written my book
I still don't have a child
I still haven't planted a tree
I still haven't seen world peace
I still don't know what is there after death
I still don't care for those who don't care about me
I still care and love those that care and love me
I still haven't gotten where I want career wise
I still don't know what I want career wise
I still don't really know where the heck Im going
I still haven't seen Italy
I still haven't seen Isa's little girl
I still haven't done half the things I want to
I still have such a long way to go before I get anywhere

There is so much I want to do, to accomplish and still there is so much in life to be figured out...
I appreciate life and everything it has given me, I live with no regrets and I have learned so much from all I have been through...

I want to thank everyone out there that has joined me in this journey... Those who are still sailing alongside me, those who jumped ship and those still to come on board...

I believe everyone that comes into my life has a reason to be here... and only time will tell me what that reason is...

Here's to at least 25 more award show seasons, 25 blockbuster seasons, 25 Xmas, 25 Passovers, 25 father's days, 25 Halloweens and sooooooooooo much more....

THANK YOU!!!

Interesting (or not) facts about me:

I was born on August 11th at exactly 11:55 PM...
My favorite numbers have always been 11 and 5... Only this morning I have realized why...

My first bday had a clown theme
My second bday had a "turma da monica" theme
My third bday had a care bears theme
My fourth bday had a strawberry shortcake theme

My 21st bday was spongebob square pants themed, a kid's party for grown-ups - with trampoline, karaoke and gift bags that included strawberry flavored condoms... (however, the best part was buying 30 packs (3 condoms in each) of it, alone at a supermarket :P)

I have had 2 surprise bday parties thrown for me... both were completely surprising and a lot of fun...

That's it for now...

Song of the day (just 'cause I can't get it out of my head... lol):

Tick Tock, Tick Tock...

18 days since my last post...
8 days since my first day at work...
11 months and 25 days since I left Brazil...
14 months since the last time I saw my mom...
13 months since I saw my grandparents...
1 year and 4 months since the greatest carnival ever...
9 months since I started school...
3 hours since I last saw my dad...

2 days to my next day at work...
6 days to my next exam...
42 days until I turn 25 years old...
more than an year until I visit loved ones in Brazil...
5 years and 42 days for me reach the 30 mark...
2 years to my graduation...
3 hours until my next night out with the girls...
3 months for the summer to be over...

Time, a constant variable... what does it really mean???

"time changes everything"... Does it?? Don't we change in time??? Who really does the action here?? If we stay put for 10 years, the world around us will have changed... but what about us???

Time doesn't change anything... but it definatelly gives us the chance to change and it is up to us to take that chance or not...

I am not the same person I was 10 years ago... The essence is still there and we all do mature through time and life experiences... I like to think I have grown, that I have become someone I am proud to be... a happy person inside and outside...

Being happy is not a constant... people can go through all their lives and never have a happy moment... no one is happy all the time... Im sorry Charlotte... but, no one...
life is made of moments and when you have more happy moments than sad ones... The math is simple, isnt it???

but life is not simple, life is not black and white... life is purple, orange, neon and baby blue... life has shades and tones that we never saw before... life surprises us everyday, every moment... Taking advantage of those surprises is what makes for a full life... not standing in the side lines and taking charge of our own future...

Not everyone has that hunger for life and experiences... I have met a few of those people throughout my life... they are usually content people that dont aim for much higher than they have... When our paths crossed I noticed that we were incompatible exactly because of that... it doenst mean I cant be their friend, but its definatelly not easy... that stillness of being, bothered me...

I remember a chat I had with two friends on the beach once... one of them was like me... wants to see the world and has no limits for growth... the other didnt even think about ever traveling abroad, she didnt care for it... it was weird for me... seeing someone that content with so little... little for me... not for her...

That's what make people so interesting in my opinion... what would be of the green if wasnt for the purple... the diversity keeps it all interesting... we learn from everyone around us and that is amazing...

Me??? Im gonna keep aiming higher and higher... living life as much as I can... taking each moment in and taking chances along the way... right until that counter hits zero on the countdown timer of MY life...

What are YOU going to do????

Lights, Camera, Life...

Anyone who knows me, knows how addicted to TV shows and Movies I am... I love watching them and they have become part of my life... from downloading the newest episode in the middle of the night, having full series marathons, counting down the days for a new episode/movie to reading every single blog out there that features some sort of comment or review of a new episode, even before I watch it (I used to write for blogs like that btw :P)... That, my friends, is something some of you may call obssession... you wouldn't be too far off... but that's who I am...

When is the obssession too much??? Where can we draw the lin between fiction and reality???

Despite my long term love relationship with TV series and Movies... and the fact that I CAN make that distinction between what's real and what is not... I have to adimit I have watched the "perfect" relationships and wished I had it... Silly, I know... but human nonetheless... Who would not prefer that things were just as simple as in your favorite romantic movie, instead of dealing with the daily stress that is the dating world??? Who would not like to have superpowers and be worshipped, instead of being ignored for being a nerd at school??? Those "realities" give us the chance to escape and live, even for a few minutes, in a different world... a dream world at times...

Everything seems so simple in that screen... for me it seems sometimes to be a paralel universe... it exists, but you will NEVER live it... I know, I know... That's a bit depressing hehe... but that's how it looks at times... How are they able to paint such a nice picture??? Give us such incredibly "perfect" worlds, that just makes us hate our own???

I blame the cliches... I swear, i do... We get caught in a whole bunch of cliches that we just accept as real and never question it... That's part of the art I guess... having that kind of creative liberty... However, nowadays I believe the audience has become more demanding (I know i have...), I used to be able to watch a show or movie and never question anything... nowadays, I spend half of it repeating to myself:"yeah, like that's possible..."

Some of those disbeliefs prompted this post, along with some things I read online... and I came up with a list for you all:

- > 11 ways to know you live in a TV show/movie < -
(organized in no specific order - based on American Tv shows/Movies)

1 - Your phone number starts with 555, along with everyone else's phone number.
2 - You NEVER repeat an outfit... EVER...
3 - Everytime you feel sad or cry, it starts to rain.
4 - Everytime you open your mouth to express how you feel, you break out in song and everyone around you is a pofessional dancer.
5 - No matter how many times you screw it up with the guy/girl you like... It all can be fixed with a heartfelt speech in a public place... don't forget to wait a bit afterwards... there will be clapping.
6 - Or you parents are amazingly understanding, or someone should not had let them procriate... There is no middle ground.
7 - Everytime you have a romantic moment, the most perfect song for the situation will start playing...
8 - Everytime someone tells you something important is going on and you should see the news... The exact news you need to see will start when you turn on the TV...
9 - Everyday of your life ends with a cliff hanger and out of the sudden you hear a voice from beyond saying: "To be continued"
10 - Everytime you say a joke you hear a track laughter from beyond.
11 - You were bitten by a radioactive spider or has been involved in some sort of imposible accident and now have super powers.

Ps: Two websites helped me get inspired for this list...
- http://www.moviecliches.com/cliche1.html#aliens - In English
- http://www.brunomotta.com.br/cliche/ - In Portuguese - Which is the brazillian version of the site above, written by a great brazillian stand up comic... Bruno Motta (http://brunomotta.zip.net/)

Post done... Now, let me get back to my Tv shows... lol

and please... if you stop by and enjoy it... Leave a comment and tell your friends about it...

Song of the moment:

"real Life - Bon Jovi" (Very suitting for the post's theme :P)

This is real love
This is real pain
That much I'm sure of
These are real tears
These are real fears inside
That I can't hide"
