I am big fan of Caitlin Kittredge's Nocturne City Series. So, when I heard she was starting a new one, I jumped on the wagon and pre-ordered Street Magic. I am definitely glad I did and the result was me buying the 2nd book right when it was announced hehe.

I really enjoy Kittredge's writting. Though The Black London series is definitely darker than her other series, it is not too dark and I found it a great piece of Urban Fantasy.

"Bitting her lip, Pete put one foot over the threshold of the tomb, then the other. A wind whispered out from the shadowed depths and ruffled her school skirt around her knees. She backed out of the doorway immediately. "We shouldn't be here, Jack."

Pete is a detective in London. Her world is turn upside down when she finds a man from her childhood, Jack Winter, that she believed was dead, in a horrible situation. To makes matters worse, Jack is her only lead in a case involving a kidnapped girl.

Jack and Pete's journey is a difficult one. They have so many personal, magical and life threatening hurdles to go through, that it might seem hopeless at times. However, their new found partnership and friendship has a lot of potential and that potential and their strong will, is what lead them forward.

"This might take some time," Jack said to Pete as they walked along the narrow high street outside Jack's flat. "We're going to have to go into the Black." He looked down at her. "Not that you seem to have a problem with that any longer."

I can't wait for my Book 2 to arrive. Demon Bond (Book #2) Came out on Dec. 1st and now I am just waiting impatiently for it to be delivered =)
