Hey Guys! Is it Tuesday already? Where the heck did the week go? Jeez… Oh well, another Tuesday and another Awesome interview and Giveaway for you guys! =)
Today I have the immense pleasure to welcome to my humble virtual abode,the author of one of the Signs of The Zodiac series, Vicki Pettersson.
The Sign of The zodiac is one of my favorite series and I loved the newest and 5th installment that came out this year. You can check out my review HERE!

When did you first start writing?
I was 26. I literally decided on the first day of the new year that I was going to write a book, and I’ve been obsessed every day since.
Have you always enjoyed Fantasy?
As a kid, yes. It got knocked out of my head for awhile during college - damned formal education - but now it’s back with a vengeance.
Why writing Urban Fantasy?
I didn’t choose it - it chose me. I combined a mouthy female first-person narrative with fantasy in my hometown and ended up unwittingly writing Urban Fantasy.
Were there any Books, Movies or Writers that have inspired you?
I love the origin story: La Femme Nikita, The Matrix, Harry Potter - things where a person is dropped into a previously unrealized world and forced to act.
What is your favorite subject in the Urban Fantasy Realm?
Obviously I have to say superheroes! But truthfully, I like anything that’s fresh, done well, and has something new to add to the genre.
I have to say that "Olivia" and Hunter's relationship always has me trying to catch my breath and my heart breaking. Is there hope for a Happily Ever After for those two?
Anything is possible as long as there’s still love 
there — just like in real life!
Are there any plans for a novel or a short story told in a secondary character's POV?
I’ve already done three. Zoe, Hunter and Skamar in HOLIDAYS ARE HELL, UNBOUND, and the upcoming DARK AND STORMY KNIGHTS, respectively.

Too many to choose from - I love Richard Kadrey’s SANDMAN SLIM though.

JD Robb, though she’s more futuristic than paranormal.
Favorite one of your Books?
I love the origin story, so I’m going with THE SCENT OF SHADOWS.
Who is your favorite of your own characters?
Joanna Archer. I love her strength.
Which was the hardest to write?
Joaquin. He disgusted me.
What would you be if not a writer?
SAHM. I do it now even though I am a writer.

The adventures of superhero(ine) Joanna Archer as she makes her way through Las Vegas’ glitzy and dangerous supernatural underworld.
Any plans for more Books in the series?
Absolutely, I’m writing the next one now.
What is coming up next for you?
I have a short story in this week’s DARK AND STORMY KNIGHTS anthology that features Skamar, and is closely related to her actions in CHEAT THE GRAVE, just out.
What are you working on right now?
The sixth book in the Zodiac series.
Do you have any advice or tip to those like me that want to become a published Author someday?
Read, write, don’t stop. Do this everyday.

Arg! This is one of those series that is sitting on my TBR list. ...And not just because we share the same (awesome) first name. I swear, it kinda makes my heart race every time I see her name on the shelf, thinking 'That'll be me someday'.
Even more than that, we share a little in common. I too dislike coming up with the middle parts of my stories. The beginning's fun to open up this world and establish the problem, the ending's just resolving the problems...but getting to that point is usually a struggle.

Great interview. I absolutely LOVE this series! I love Joanna Archer - she's strong and brave but not ridiculously perfect. She makes mistakes but she owns them, recovers and keeps going. I'm constantly surprised while reading the Zodiac books and can never predict what's going to happen, yet the characters always remain 'real' and true to who they are.
I also love La Femme Nikita and JD Robb - no wonder I love Vicki's books! Can't wait to read more, keep them coming!

Hi Guys
Well I am a little slow on finding this - Vicki is one of those authors that I look at and go "Gee I would really love to read her books" but never seem to get to. I particularly enjoyed the interview - I like the short answer bit and can really understand the bit about coffee. :)
For me, I am new to Urban Fantasy - but then I came to romance a long long long way round and quickly discovered I loved anything with a suspense angle (yes I love JD Robb too) - from there it was a hop skip & jump to paranormal and the U/F made an entrance only in the last 6 months :)
So thanks for the interview - it was fantastic.
