Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob -- knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life

From IMDB.

Ok, so I went to see Eclipse this Saturday with my BFF. We had bought the tickets about a month ago and we both were super excited to watch it, especially since we have both read the book (well, he read it an year ago, so he didn’t really remember everything LOL)

I am not sure how I feel about this movei, I feel like I need to do two different reviews for it. One as a Twilight Saga fan and one as a regular movie goer. So, that’s what I’m going to do…

My Views as a Regular Movie Goer:

*If I hadn’t read the books or seen movies 1 and 2

OK so, I have no idea what the heck was going on. This guys named Edward kept proposing to this girl, who kept saying “no” and he didn’t relent. That was sort of creepy, I mean, NO is NO, right?

They kept talking about some people I had never heard of before and things started moving forward too fast. Who is Jacob and why doesn’t he have a shirt? Even that guy Edward noticed. There seems to be a sort of love triangle going on, but neither men seem able to understand the word NO.

Jacob insists the Bella chick loves him and she says NO. Edward proposes and she says NO. However neither of them gives up, apparently NO doesn’t have the same meaning for me, since not even Bella knows the meaning… so weird.

Another thing is, that guy is supposed to be a vampire? He doesn’t have fangs and he sparkles, what the f**** is that about?

The dialogue was pretty lame throughout the movie, things didn’t really make much sense, I felt like there was a lot going on underneath it all, but it never came across to me, so I was very confused.

The action scenes were pretty cool and the wolves were well done, but the story felt rushed, there was a lot going on and things were never really explained. I know I haven’t seen the previous movies (I know I live under a rock), but a little bit of catching up could have helped.

All in all it was an ok movie. Nothing to write home about.

My Views as a Twilight Saga Fan:

Hmmmm this is really hard for me. I enjoyed seeing my favorite of the books translated to the screen, but I felt that it wasn’t really a great movie. I can’t put my finger on it, but when the movie ended I felt disturbed.

The Vulturi weren’t scary enough! I forgot about them for a long time during the movie.

K-Stew’s acting was painful! I couldn’t take another lip-chewing moment. Rob and Taylor did ok. They were never great, but they did their job. My favorite parts were anything with the other Cullens. They were so cute.

The action was pretty awesome! The battle was fun and very well made.

I loved that they gave Bree some screen time. It was definitelly a shout out to us who have read the novella.

There were some unintentional LOL moments for me. But I guess that is to be expected when talking about sparkling vamps, right?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Twilight Saga fan, but the movies just fall short for me. I am curious to see what they will do with Breaking Dawn.

I’m not going to rate it! Sorry =P

  1. Awww sorry that this movie didn't work for you! I haven't seen it yet, but I will soon.....I have heard mixed reviews for it but I think I'll give it a try! Thanks for being honest!

  2. hehe Thanks hon!

    I do hope you enjoy it! I might give it a second chance =)

  3. Christine says:

    I love the Twilight saga, but I haven´t seen Eclipse yet. I kind of fear what you said, that the movie would fall short. Now, after your review I´m even more hesitant to go and watch it...
    But in the end, I´ll guess i won´t be able to help myself and go see it! :)

    xoxo!

  4. hehe its cool hon! go fot it! hope you love it! =)

  5. Honestly I liked Eclipse better then New Moon and Twilight. Though I did hate Eclipse the book. I'm not a Team Edward fan *in terms of the movie, I like looking at Taylor more* but Robert I think is a better actor then K-stew in some ways. I mean, honestly, it's really hard to imagine her as Bella. I always imagined Emily Browning being Bella.

  6. Danielle says:

    "Who is Jacob and why doesn’t he have a shirt? Even that guy Edward noticed. "

    LOL! Totally agree!
    I mean, he's lovely to look at... but at some point even the most die-hard tween has got to say "no shirt, no service".

    Kirsten Stewart needs to have some persoanlity slapped into her. She is the moodiest little cow I've ever had the displeasure of watching on screen. Her acting was awful (and the wig was ridiculous!) but she *really* annoys me on the interview circle - I swear, she grunts her replies to reporters!

  7. Missie says:

    LOL! Your review as a Regular Movie goer is so funny. Yeah, it is pretty weird that No doesn't mean No anymore.

    With as much as the movie and books have made, it is a shame that they can't put together a better movie. Something HP style. But no, all we get is bad makeup and stiff acting. Grrrrrr

    It breaks my heart!

  8. Kira says:

    Okay this made me laugh really hard because I feel EXACTLY the same way. I havn't seen Eclipse yet but I had a feeling it was going to be just as you described, which is why I havn't rushed to the theater. Kristen Stewart has completely ruined the entire movie series for me with the way she says lines like she just swallowed a bug. Every. Freaking. Line. If you havn't read the books there is absolutely no explanation for why Edward OR Jacob love this girl.

    This was my first experience in paranormal fiction, so at the time they were the best books ever. One year later, after reading about 100 other books, I want to know when the really GOOD books are going to be made into movies!

  9. @Book Monster

    I did too! and I agree with you! =)

    @Danielle

    LOL =)))) I cant stand that girl... humph

    @Missie

    Thanks hon! I know, right? so annoying

    it breaks mine too =/

    @Kira

    Thanks!!!

    I feel the SAME way! there are so many better books out there! at the time I read them they were amazing hehe =))
