Hey guys, welcome to my New {Book} Blogs on the Block weekly feature =) As I explained last week, I’m bringing the feature back but I’m changing it a bit.
Every Saturday I’ll have two blogs featured and instead of having an interview with them I’ll have a quote from each. I already have a lot of Blogs signed up for the upcoming weeks, but if YOU have a *New Book Blog and would like to be featured, please contact me at
and please put "New {Book} Blogs on the Block" (N{B}BOTB) in the subject of the email! For more info you can go HERE!

The first blog featured today is “Reading on The Dark Side”:
I’ll let Christine tell us a bit about how and why she started blogging & what she loves and hates about it:
“ I started bloggin because I really love books, especially Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance. Unfortunatly, most of my friends and family are either not big readers themselves or prefer other genres. So at first, I saw my blog as more of a private thing and started it in German, my native language. But then, I discovered so many other amazing blogs out there, got to know really cool bloggers and was instantly sucked into it. That´s when I started blogging in English and became more serious about it. Finally, I found people who share my likes and dislikes for books (or who might even read my raving about my latest favourite book), who I can talk to and who have helped me so much to make my blog what it is right now, after only two months. That´s what I love most, Meeting you guys and hearing back from you through comments on my blog. There are so many occasions when my blog really made me happy: having my first interview with an author, receiving my first ARC or becoming my first award, it´s such a great and wonderful experience for me!
There´s actually really nothing I don´t like or even hate about blogging.
If you come over and check out my blog, you´ll find reviews of the books I´ve read, (hopefully) some interviews with authors I love or begin to love, publishing news and other book related stuff, but also a little bit about me and my quest of converting my at first reluctant sister into a lover of everything paranormal.”

The second blog featured today is “The Darkeva”:
I’ll let Anita tell us a bit about how and why she started blogging & what she loves and hates about it:
“I started seriously blogging in January of this year, and I started my blog because I was known as "that girl who knows the fantasy and horror sections" at the bookstore where I used to work. People loved my recommendations, especially fans of dark fantasy, horror, and graphic novels. Also, I wanted my blog to be fun for me and not to feel like a chore. The thing that I love about blogging is the freedom of expression, and freedom of genre. Most newspapers don't review the SF/F/H genres, romance, or YA (especially not in Canada, where most reviews tend to be about general and literary fiction, or non-fiction), so blogs have provided a new outlet to promote the kinds of books that we all love.
My biggest pet peeve in all of this has been the technical "upgrading" and website domain stuff--it's a huge headache, and it took me a long time to get everything up and running on my new site. It's also challenging to juggle my blog with my already hectic work and school schedule. But I'm having a great time so far, and I've met some of the coolest people through blogs, and I look forward to meeting and connecting with even more.”
