Top 5 Sundays [#1]

 

I've had this constant thought in my mind about having a Top 10 feature on the blog, but I find it hard to come up with a top 10 most times LOL .Then a couple weeks ago High Fidelity was on TV and I had to watch. After that i stayed with the Top 5 thing in my head but just never put it into practice.

Today it came to me to start this new feature and I hope you guys like it.
Every Sunday I will post a TOP 5 list on the blog. It can be about anything and every week I'll have a new theme {You can vote on next week’s theme on my left sidebar!} and I will ad the Mr.Linky bellow the post so you can do a list with the theme and add you link to it.

Rules:

1 - Write a post listing your TOP 5 choices within the theme I chose (or was chosen on a poll) for the week.
2 - Mention this Blog on the post and link back to it.
3 - Fell free to use the Feature's image (there is a smaller size version of it bellow)

This week’s theme is Childhood & Early Teenage Years Books and since I was born and raised in Brazil some of mine are from Brazilian authors, so i limited my lit to foreign language titles =)

 

 

 

 

Where’s Waldo? - {Onde Esta Wally?}

This was never my favorite book as child, but it definitely left it’s mark on my childhood. When I was a kid you could see this book everywhere! All the kids had it and all the sequels too. I did have fun looking for Waldo, but usually I checked out my classmate’s books at school.

Because the funny thing is that I have never actually owned a copy of the book LOL.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bridget Jones’s Diary – {O Diario de Bridget Jones}

I actually read the second book in the series before I even got the first. I ended up winning the first book in an online contest that didn’t even remember entering LOL. It was a promotional thing for the first movie and with it I also won the movie soundtrack (which is awesome), a gel mask (pink) and a beach backpack (hot pink). it was so cool and I remember really liking book 2 and then really enjoying book 1 as well.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Disney’s Sleeping Beauty - {A Bela Adormecida}

This was my all time favorite fairy tale as a kid. I had my dad read it to me every night and he always tells the story that sometimes he was tired from work and tried to skip a few parts so he could go to bed, and I would just complain and say “you skipped that part daddy”, because I already knew the whole thing by heart LOL

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anne Frank’s Diary - {O Diario de Anne Frank}

I remember how this book moved me. I had just started going to a Jewish school, I was about 12, when I read it and it hit me the strongest because of it.

Along with that we also got to meet Holocaust survivors at school at about the same time, and Schindler’s List had just came out and had already pored my eyes out when i went to see it with my mom and dad.

Definitely a literary milestone for me .

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Little Vampire - {O Pequeno Vampiro}

This was such a huge series amongst kids when i was younger. I remember waiting every year or so for a new one to come out and they were such fun reads.

There were 18 in the series in Germany (where the author is from), about 12 were translated and released here. I don’t remember when i stopped reading them, but I do remember how much I loved it.

This one if in first place because that is the root to my love for the paranormal and I wouldn’t be here without it.
