- When did you first start writing?
When I was 13...I was an Air Force brat so I was always the new kid. Rather than make new friends every 8 months, I huddled in the corner and wrote short stories.

- What about in the Paranormal?
My favorite sub-genre! I like being able to make, then break, my own rules.
- Why writing Paranormal Romance?
Why not? Stephen King was once asked, "Why do you choose to write horror?" to which he replied "Why do you choose to think I choose?" Not that I'm in his league, but I could relate to that...most of the ideas I get are for a paranormal romance.
- Were there any Books, Movies or Writers that have inspired you?
Nothing specific, though I've been reading and watching paranormal as long as I can remember.
- I find the sex scenes in your books are very hot. Where do you get your inspiration?
Well...I'm happily married to a really good-looking guy who has a great sense of humor and is...enthusiastic. I envy Betsy nothing!
- Do you find it hard to write them?
Sometimes...I got a little burned out on them earlier in my career, so these days my editor has to cajole them out of me. "Betsy and Sinclair are passionately in love...please make them have sex at least twice in 350 pages."

Again, too many to choose. Michelle Bardsley, Dakota Cassidy, Kim Harrison...
UNDEAD AND UNEMPLOYED. I loved the idea of an out-of-work vampire.
- Who is your favorite of your own characters? Why?
That'd be a tie between Betsy and Cadence Jones...they can both see the funny side of things, and there's something deeply wrong with both of them. ;-)
- Which was the hardest to write?
Cadence, for sure (she's got Multiple Personality Disorder), because I'm a layman and had to research all the psych stuff.
- What would you be if not a writer?
I'd run a book store...or be a nurse! I almost went to the University of MN for a nursing degree...I've got great respect for the profession and think it would be exhausting, yet awesome.

Getting the idea! I can get completely seized by an idea and not be able to concentrate for days.
- What is your least favorite part?
The second half...slogging through to The End is hard for me...I have a terrible time hitting my word count.
- The Queen Betsy series in your own words?
Sex in the City meets 'Salems Lot.
- As a fan, I have to say that I basically have read and love all your series so far, I miss the wolves! Any plans to bring them back?
Oh, sure...in novellas for certain, and I hope to be able to write another stand-alone book like DERIK'S BANE.
- What is coming up next for you?
ME, MYSELF AND WHY in September...my FBI series where everyone in the department is under psychiatric care. And licensed to carry firearms!
- What are you working on right now?
UNDEAD AND UNDERMINED, and the next Jennifer Scales book.
- Do you have any advice or tip to those like me that want to become a published Author someday?
Don't give up! I collected ten years of rejection slips before UNDEAD AND UNWED sold.
- Anything you would like to say to your fans out there?

I have read a couple of MJ's books and enjoyed them.
I agree totally with her choices of the Resident Evil movies, I just love the kick-ass heroine. But I would stickwith the original Buffy rather than Angel and who doesn't love Stecen Kings books !
