Hey Guys! Let’s Welcome The Awesome Jennifer Estep, author of the Elemental Assassin Series, to The Blog today!
I posted my ARC review of Tangled Threads last week and the book finally comes out tomorrow! {Tuesday}

Greetings and salutations! First of all, I want to say thanks to Larissa for having me on the blog today. Thanks so much, Larissa! ;)
So Larissa asked me to talk a little today about social media and how I use it as an author. I’ll admit that I was a little late getting on the social media bandwagon. I put up a website and started blogging when I sold my first book back in 2006, as well as doing a monthly e-newsletter, but I didn’t start using Facebook, Twitter, and Goodreads until early 2010.
But now, those things have become my crack. Seriously, I’m completely addicted. I check Facebook and Twitter daily to see what’s going on with my friends, other authors, and more. I use Goodreads more to keep track of what I read, but I interact with folks over there too.
It always surprises me the things that get a lot of comments and the things that don’t. If I spend an hour or two on a blog post, something I think is cool and somewhat interesting, I won’t get a single comment on it. Not one. But the random things that I post just because they amuse me, well those are the things that get multiple comments. It never fails. LOL.
For example, a few weeks ago, I tweeted a photo that I saw on Entertainment Weekly of Wonder Woman in her costume from the new TV show that’s being considered for the fall season. I didn’t think much of it, but I went back on Twitter on hour later and had gotten something like thirty comments on it. That’s huge for me! In fact, I think it was the most tweets I’d gotten about
anything before. LOL.
I think that goes to show that you can’t talk about yourself all the time on social media sites and expect to be successful. Sure, I keep folks updated on my latest news, like new covers, excerpts,
and things like that. But I also post book reviews, links to movie trailers, contests that other authors are running, just anything that I think is cool or interesting. I don’t have a huge number
of followers on Facebook, Twitter, or Goodreads, but I seem to get a few more folks every week.
So I hope that folks find my posts somewhat interesting and entertaining, whether I’m talking about my books, Wonder Woman, or something else entirely. LOL.
What about you guys? Which social media sites do you love or loathe? Share in the comments.

Jennifer writes the Elemental Assassin urban fantasy series for Pocket Books. The books focus on Gin Blanco, an assassin codenamed the Spider who can control the elements of Ice and Stone. When she’s not busy killing people and righting wrongs, Gin runs a barbecue restaurant called the Pork Pit in the fictional Southern metropolis of Ashland. The city is also home to giants,
dwarves, vampires, and elementals – Air, Fire, Ice, and Stone.
Books in the series are Spider’s Bite, Web of Lies, and Venom. Tangled Threads, the fourth book, will be published on April 26, while Spider’s Revenge, the fifth book, will be released in October.
Jennifer also writes the Mythos Academy young adult urban fantasy series for Kensington. The books focus on Gwen Frost, a 17-year-old Gypsy girl who has the gift of psychometry, or the ability to know an object’s history just by touching it. After a serious freak-out with her magic,
Gwen is shipped off to Mythos Academy, a school for the descendants of ancient warriors like Spartans, Valkyries, Amazons, and more.
The first book, Touch of Frost, will be out in August, while the second book, Kiss of Frost, will hit shelves in December. First Frost, a prequel e-short story to the series, will be out in July.

xoxo,
I like Facebook and twitter. I do not like MySpace. Never did.
I used to love MySpace, but I haven't bothered to log on for quite some time. It seems irrelevant at this point. I love Twitter and Goodreads, and I check in on Facebook, even though it's not my favorite because a lot of my friends and relatives are there and it's a good place to connect with them.
i love the Elemental Assassin series and I can't wait to read Tangled Threads.
I love Facebook, and goodreads. Never was a fan of Myspace and don't use twitter much.
Facebook and goodreads are the winners for me! Great interview!

I'm always on FR and GR!
I really like goodreads, its just awesome for everything.
I regularly use Twitter. I also am on Goodreads and Facebook, but not as often.
I love Twitter, Goodreads, and Facebook! I don't care much for Myspace at all
I am on Facebook, Twitter, Myspace and Goodreads. But i really only like to use Facebook and Goodreads. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! The books sound awesome.
I love twitter, goodreads and Facebook and cant stand or trust Myspace.
Stacy
I don't like any of them, but I'm a facebook member primarily to get access to coupons. I am a member of goodreads but not for it's social aspect.

I like facebook and goodreads not my space. Tore923@aol.com
Hi, guys! Hope everyone is doing well.
Hmm. Does anyone even use MySpace anymore? It doesn't sound like it from the comments here. LOL.
But I'm with you guys. Facebook, Twitter, and Goodreads are pretty much all the social media sites that I use these days. I especially love Goodreads. So many books, so little time! ;-)
I am a bit of a luddite. I don't do any of the social networking things. I don't even have a cell phone anymore. I don't miss it at all.
twoofakind12@yahoo.com
I love Facebook, Twitter and Goodreads. it was a way for me to find more people who like books just as i do.
I like Facebook ,twitter and goodreads I find out about great new books with them! Great giveaway thank you.

You know, I didn't even think about cell phones when I wrote this, but it seems like everyone has one -- and folks are always on them, texting, emailing, and more. But I have to agree with Debbie. I'm kind of a ludite in that I only use my cell to make calls. LOL.
And I also wanted to say thanks for the nice words about my books. I appreciate them! ;-)
Never got into using Myspace, Twitter or Facebook, they just seemed like a time suck for me when I would rather be reading a great book.

The social media sites can definitely be a time suck, but it's really fun to connect with readers too and talk about all the great books out there.
Alreading my shoulders are shuddering while the anticipation for what's next is fulfilled. You have me holding my breath wondering what diabolical dilemma is going to appear this time.
I like Facebook and Goodreads. I follow on twitter, but don't tweet. I do tweet contests.

I love Goodreads. It's really helped me get more information and connected with others. I'm frustrated with Twitter and Facebook for multiple reasons....So those I loathe.
All of them.
I hate them all and I love them all. They end up consuming too much of my life, but I just can't quit them.
Goodreads, twitter, facebook, etc etc....
great giveaway

I am not a fan of myspace- just seems kinda seedy now
I used to love Myspace it was the first social media I connected with but now I can't stand it, I never go there any more.
I used and love FB , Twitter , Goodreads(especially this one I can talk books to my hearts content.)
I think a lot of folks have a love/hate relationship with social media. On the one hand, it's great to keep up with friends. On the other hand, it can be exhausting keeping everything updated all the time ...
I love Goodreads and Facebook. I am not a fan of Twitter - it just seems impersonal to me. That, and I can't even figure out how to leave a comment for someone, lol...
I love FB, Twitter, & Goodreads. I check them daily and use each for different things.
FB is how i keep in touch with all the people i've met through Blogs & Conferences (all book themed/related), Twitter is how i keep up with latest news flashes. :)
I like Facebook, Twitter, GoodReads.
I used to be quite frequent on Myspace but no longer much care for it.
I'm not a huge fan of MySpace...haven't visited in years!
mybookishways[at]yahoo[dot]com
I've lost interest in MySpace and I don't see the big deal with Twitter. Facebook and Goodreads is pretty much where I'm at.

I used to love MySpace and hated FB. Now things have switched. I haven't been on MySpace in ages, but check FB daily, numerous times even. I've recently gotten into Twitter, but it isn't something I check daily.
That's it for social media for me.
Facebook used to be awesome but every time they decide to change something (or give it a new layout) it seems to get worse and worse to the point I can barely stand it anymore. I still go on it because it is a way that I communicate with my friends but otherwise I would have deleted my account a long time ago.
I like Goodreads for all of the information about authors and books that I'm finding on the site, but I don't keep up with adding books that I've read to my list or my to-be-read list.

I don't really use social media too much other than to occasionally play games on Facebook
I like facebook and very recently I've become a huge fan of twitter.
I love this series!
I like and loathe facebook.
Thanks for hosting.
I like Facebook but hate twitter.
I use both Facebook and Twitter...but none of my family uses Twitter so it is more for books and author info!
I love blogs. I read so many interesting posts! I do have to admit though that Twitter is what you'll find me checking more frequently. That's where all the random, funny facts are being, well, tweeted! :D
I'm not a fan of Facebook or MySpace. I used to love Facebook, but they keep making changes & it's even harder to control privacy, etc. so I've just gotten annoyed! Plus I don't have the time to keep up with the games, etc. lol.
Love twitter, though. The character limitation makes me happy. : )
Thanks for the giveaway!

I love Facebook, because my entire family can keep in touch there, no matter how spread out we are.
I loathe Twitter...who can keep up with all of that chatter?

I love Twitter, Goodreads and blogs...but I've never been a fan of Facebook or MySpace.
varuca25(at)gmail(dot)com
Not a big fan of MySpace or as my dad calls it, MyFacw.
This series is on my TBR mountain. I can't wait until I read it.
I can't wait to read this, I've read the 1st book and it was awesome so I bought the next 2. I love the covers too.
I entered under Krysta Banco
I enjoy Facebook and Twitter. I also joined Book Country. Not sure that counts, but it's been a good networking source for me.
I love Twitter, Goodreads and blogs...but I've never been a fan of MySpace
Hi, everyone! I just wanted to chime in again and say thanks for all the nice words about my books. I appreciate them.
You know, I never had a MySpace page and I was reluctant to get on FB and Twitter. But now that I am, I really enjoy them. I think they and Goodreads are a great way to connect with readers and find even more authors to add to my own TBR pile.
I have heard great things about this series and can't wait to get a chance to read it.
As far as social medai, I like FB and Twitter. I haven't got into myspace. There is something called formspring that my daughter uses. I can barely keep up with FB and twitter. :)
I am a Twitter and blog addict! I get on FB maybe once a week. I never had a MySpace page. Thank you for the giveaway. I've heard great things about this book.
I've been addicted to Goodreads, Twitter, and Facebook as well! It's becoming to much of an addiction to me however...I need to get out more LOL
I like Facebook and Twitter and that's pretty much it, lol.
