Phoenix Rising: A Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences Novel

I am by no means an steampunk specialist, my biggest connection with the genre is Gail Carriger’s Parasol Protectorate series, but I am very interested and curious about this new fiction phenomenon.

After reading Phoenix Rising, I have to say that I now consider myself a huge fan of steampunk. Phoenix Rising is a superb novel, full of adventure where not only the world created by Tee and Pip is amazing but the characters pop out of the page and become part of your life instead of being just fictional people you enjoy reading a bout.

I love that the roles are bit reversed in Phoenix Rising, the girl, Eliza, is the kick-ass action heroine, while Mr. Books tends to be more of the introverted type. However is this incredible novel, nothing is really as it seems and each character is full of layers that you find the most pleasure in unveiling.

There is so much adventure, banter and espionage goodness in Phoenix Rising, that I cannot wait to read more. Eliza and Books have quickly become two of my favorite characters!
