Character interview and giveaway with Jill Conrad from Bloodlust by Michelle Rowen

The greatest thing about the summer is the hot weather, vacations, bright sun, green grass, flowers...free time to read. I thought I’d ask the main character from my Nightshade books, Jill Conrad, what her favorite summer things are.

Michelle Rowen: So, Jill, tell me...what’s your favorite thing about summer?

Jillian Conrad: *glares* You’re kidding me, right?”

MR: Not really. Come on, don’t be like this. This is a fun, breezy interview about summer. You look like somebody who likes to get a tan, hang out at a pool in a bikini, relax with a drink in hand, admit it.

Jill: Maybe once upon a time. But I have more important things to think about that getting a suntan right now. In case you’ve forgotten, author-girl.

MR: Um.

Jill: Don’t you um me after what you did to me in Nightshade and the Bleeding Heart novella. I have poison in my veins that’s slowly killing me and it’s all your fault. Sure, it’s June. The sun is bright, although unlike Toronto where you live, I lived in San Diego before you destroyed my life. Not much of a problem with sunshine down here. Or pools. They’re everywhere.

MR: I sense that you’re a little angry with me.

Jill: Yeah, I’m dying. Slowly and horribly. Imagine me being angry about that! What a shocker!

MR: Fine, you have Nightshade in your veins that means any vampire who bites you will die a horrific and fiery death and it may have certain unpleasant, uh, side effects for you. Sorry about that. But I gave you that dude with the eye patch and scars to take care of you. He’ll kick anyone’s ass that tries to hurt you now.

Jill: Right. Declan...well, it’s complicated with me and him. Complications that are also your fault as an author. I really don’t like you.

MR: *smiles evilly*

Jill: Don’t you smile evilly at me. It’s summer, it’s beautiful, the sun is shining and my life is going to hell. I’m being hunted now—by vampires who want to kill me for what I am. Are they going to find me first or are you just going to let this poison slowly destroy me from the inside out?

MR: I take it you haven’t read Bloodlust yet.

Jill: It’s not out until July 5^th. That’s my future, therefore no I haven’t read it. So, what, you’re some sort of a psychic? You can predict my future? What happens to me? Do I live? Do I die? What happens to Declan? Declan and me? Can we...be together? I mean, is that even possible?

MR: Let’s just say, it’s going to be an interesting summer for you, Jill. Hang on tight!

Jill: *glares*
