I love this theme! There are so many amazing leading men in the literary world, but some piece of heart is always given to the third side of the love love triangle, the one that doesn’t get chosen.

I stopped the shifter series when Faythe slept with Jace just bc she thought Marc was dead, but glad to know she ended up with Marc anyway (not that I didn't like Jace, it was more Faythe's decision to sleep with him that irked me).
And you can argue that Sookie WILL end up with Sam since it's pretty much all but hinted at by Charlaine who has confirmed she won't be with a vampire because she intends for sookie to have a family XD
Puck was one of my favorite rejected guys ever! I also love Ren from Wolfsbane and Simon from TMI. :)
I have a top 5 suggestion! How about top five feminine sword wielders? :)

Oh, the heartbreak! I like all of these guys, and I really kinda hope they all found fictional happy endings with some other girl ... Chuckie, Christopher, Gale and Jace especially!

Ooh, this one's hard, as I don't read a lot of love triangle-y books. But I'll try!
1) Niall from Melissa Marr's Ink Exchange
2) Neville Longbottom. The way JKR was writing the books (and *not* judging from the movies), I always thought he'd end up with Luna Lovegood.
3) Accolon from Marion Zimmer Bradley's Mists of Avalon. Both he and Morgaine got screwed over by Guinevere.
4) Adrial from C.L. Wilson's Tairen Soul series. An immortal elf finds his one true love only a week after she marries a cruel man in an arranged marriage. *sobs!*
5) Cadvan from Alison Croggon's Pellinor series. There are two women the author introduces that he'd be a good match with, and he doesn't end up with either!

Awe! I feel sorry for these rejected loves! I really wish the authors would write a story for them so they can have a happy ending too.
